We are recruiting for a Health & Safety Advisor to support multiple residential developments across Exeter and the surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business where safety is genuinely valued and embedded within the company culture.

The Role

Reporting into the Health & Safety Manager, you will provide practical health and safety support across a number of live construction sites, ensuring compliance with legislation, company procedures, and best practice standards.

You will work closely with site management teams, helping to drive a positive safety culture while supporting operational teams in achieving high standards of health, safety, and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and safety reviews across multiple residential developments
  • Provide competent health and safety advice to site teams and management
  • Support and coach operational staff on health and safety best practices
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe acts, identifying root causes and preventative actions
  • Monitor compliance with company policies and relevant legislation
  • Produce detailed inspection and audit reports
  • Assist with risk assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work
  • Deliver toolbox talks and support ongoing health and safety training initiatives
  • Promote a positive and proactive approach to health and safety across all projects
About You

We're looking for a confident and engaging health and safety professional who enjoys building relationships on site and influencing positive behaviours.

Requirements
  • Previous experience within a construction Health & Safety role
  • Residential construction experience strongly preferred
  • NEBOSH General Certificate as a minimum
  • Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to work independently across multiple sites
Desirable
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate
  • Membership of IOSH (TechIOSH or above)
  • Experience working for a housebuilder, residential developer, or principal contractor
