Ringway, a leading UK highways services provider and part of the VINCI Group, is looking to appoint a Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor to join the Kent Highway Services contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive HSE professional to play a key role in supporting operational teams across a diverse range of highway maintenance, improvement and infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for promoting a positive safety culture, ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation, and driving continuous improvement across the contract.
The Role
Working closely with operational and management teams, you will provide expert advice and support on all aspects of health, safety and environmental performance across the Kent contract.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing professional HSE guidance to managers, supervisors and operational teams.
- Undertaking site inspections, audits and safety tours across highway maintenance and construction activities.
- Supporting incident investigations and ensuring effective corrective actions are implemented.
- Monitoring compliance with company policies, legislation and industry best practice.
- Delivering toolbox talks, briefings and safety initiatives.
- Supporting risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.
- Assisting with environmental management, sustainability initiatives and compliance requirements.
- Producing reports, analysing trends and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Promoting behavioural safety and driving a culture of continuous improvement.
About You
We are looking for an enthusiastic and engaging HSE professional who can build strong relationships across all levels of the business.
You will ideally have:
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent health and safety qualification.
- Experience within highways, construction, infrastructure, utilities or a related operational environment.
- Knowledge of current health, safety and environmental legislation.
- Experience conducting audits, inspections and incident investigations.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive and positive approach to improving safety performance.
- Full UK driving licence.
