Exceptional Health, Safety and Environmental Manager required to join our site leadership team here at Florette!
This role will be accountable for ensuring the site operates in full compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation, food industry standards and company policies. Embed a culture of safety and sustainability, protecting people, product integrity, and the environment whiles enabling efficient food manufacturing operations.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
Main Responsibilities
To work with key stakeholders on site to deliver an effective improvement plan for safety on site, implement UK best practice.
Act as the appointed Competent Person for the site under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations, being accountable for ensuring full compliance with all statutory health, safety, and environmental requirements.
Key member of the Site Leadership Team at Lichfield supporting, promoting and delivering site management cohesion between transport, operations and all supporting functions to ensure delivery within customer and legal guidance.
Develop and maintain up-to-date risk assessments, safe systems of work and control measures across all departments. Ensure that hazards are identified, assessed and effectively controlled, with risks reduced to as low as reasonably practicable
Own the site accident and incident investigation process, ensuring root causes are addressed and learnings shared.
Align health, safety and environmental controls with food safety and quality requirements. Ensure that contractor management, chemical usage, and hygiene practices safeguard both workforce and food integrity. Collaborate closely with the Technical team to integrate safety into all food manufacturing processes.
Skills and Experience Required
NEBOSH Diplomas (or working towards) or equivalent qualification.
Proven HSE management experience in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment.
Strong knowledge of UK health, safety and environmental legislation.
Experience in accident investigation, audits, and compliance reporting.
Excellent communication, influencing and leadership skills.
Working knowledge and understanding of OHSAS 18001.
