We're recruiting on behalf of a rapidly growing engineering and energy solutions business delivering innovative decarbonisation and renewable energy projects across the UK. The Role

As Health, Safety & Environmental Officer, you'll be responsible for ensuring high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance across a range of decarbonisation, construction and infrastructure projects.

Working closely with project teams, contractors, clients and senior stakeholders, you'll help embed a positive safety culture, drive continuous improvement and ensure projects are delivered safely and compliantly from planning through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct site inspections, audits and compliance reviews.
  • Lead accident, incident and near-miss investigations.
  • Support risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Provide HSE guidance to project teams, contractors and stakeholders.
  • Promote behavioural safety initiatives and a proactive safety culture.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, CDM requirements and industry standards.
  • Support environmental management and sustainability objectives across projects.
  • Build strong relationships through regular site engagement and visible leadership.

About You

You'll ideally have:

✔ 5+ years' experience in Health & Safety roles

✔ At least 2 years' experience within construction, infrastructure or major projects

✔ NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)

✔ NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent)

✔ NEBOSH Fire Certificate (or equivalent)

✔ Experience carrying out audits, investigations and risk assessments

✔ Strong understanding of CDM Regulations and contractor management

✔ Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

✔ ISO 45001 Internal Auditor qualification

Experience within decarbonisation, renewables, energy transition, heat networks, retrofit or similar sectors would be highly advantageous.
