Health, Safety & Quality Systems Manager in Sheffield

Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be supporting a well-established manufacturing business with the appointment of an experienced Health, Safety and Quality System Manager.

The role would suit an experienced H&S and Quality professional who enjoys being visible and hands-on within a manufacturing environment, while also having the systems, audit and compliance expertise to work effectively with senior leadership. You will lead the day-to-day management of Health & Safety across the site, while supporting the continued development and effectiveness of the Quality Management System.

You will play a key role in maintaining compliance with ISO 45001 and ISO 9001, supporting audit readiness, managing corrective actions and driving practical improvements across the operation.

• Lead day-to-day Health & Safety activity across the site, promoting a proactive and positive safety culture.

• Own, maintain and continuously improve the Health & Safety Management System in line with ISO 45001 and UK legal requirements.

• Support the maintenance and improvement of the Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001, internal standards and customer requirements.
• Maintain key documentation including policies, procedures, risk assessments, safe systems of work, audit records and corrective action trackers.
• Plan, conduct and support internal audits across H&S and Quality systems.
• Coordinate audit actions, non-conformances and improvement plans, ensuring actions are clearly owned and closed within agreed timescales.
• Lead and support accident, near-miss and quality/process non-conformance investigations, applying structured root cause analysis.
• Provide practical H&S and Quality guidance around new equipment, process changes, engineering projects, contractors and operational improvements.
• Develop and deliver relevant training, toolbox talks and system communications.
• Monitor and report H&S and Quality KPIs, risks, audit findings and improvement activity to site leadership..
• Support external certification audits, customer audits, regulatory visits and management reviews.

We are looking for an experienced H&S and Quality professional who can combine strong technical knowledge with a practical, hands-on approach.

You will ideally have:

• Significant experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and management systems.
• Experience working with ISO 45001 and ISO 9001.
• Proven experience supporting or leading internal and external audits.
