TECHNICAL RENEWABLES HEATING SALES MANAGER

The company has been established for over 40 years and has in that time created a strong local reputation for delivering high-quality services ranging from plumbing, heating and electrical installation and maintenance, bathroom and kitchen installations, through to the supply and installation of renewable technologies including heat pumps, solar PV and battery storage solutions.
THE ROLE
This role has 3 primary functions;
1. To generate sales revenue, primarily in the renewables heating division, but also through cross-selling with other divisions in the company.
2. To ensure the company delivers the highest quality solutions and service to our customers throughout the whole customer journey (from enquiry to project completion).
3. To work in conjunction with the Operations Manager to ensure all projects are delivered on budget in line with customers expectations, resolving any site issues that may arise during the process.
THE INDIVIDUAL
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic customer orientated technically minded sales professional, happy to take on a challenge, developing and growing the role. They will be passionate about delivering top class customer service, drawing contentment from providing best possible system designs, resolving issues and ensuring all expectations are met as a minimum, but exceeded where possible.
Detailed Responsibilities
Designing and Quoting Process:
- Manage all heat pump and renewable heating system, and plumbing, installation quotations from enquiry through to project completion.
- Review and analysis of project specification documents and proposed drawings provided by customers.
- Ensure all information required to provide an accurate quotation and carry out the proposed works with highest efficiencies is gathered, recorded in the correct fashion, and made available for all internal staff to access and interpret.
- Develop heating, domestic hot water and plumbing system designs appropriate for the relevant building’s requirements.
- Weekly review of quotations and sales pipeline with Directors.
Installation Process:
- Attend weekly Operations meeting with Operations Manager, Sales Managers and Purchasing Manager to discuss the status of ongoing projects, including future labour and material requirements.
- Ensure project coordination between customers and internal staff is of the highest standard.
- Liaise with Operations Manager to schedule works and ensure project progress communication is regular and of excellent quality.
- Manage and maintain project files and paperwork, ensuring checklist requirements are met on completion of projects and passed onto accounts with final costs for invoicing and closure.
- Liaise with Operations Manager to provide weekly Project Progress Reports.
- Assist installation engineers with site queries and technical issues on live projects, ensuring variation estimates for any additional works are issued to the customer in writing.
- Manage any sub-contractors required as part of the works when appropriate.
- Liaise with Operations Manager to organise snagging to be completed for project sign off at the earliest point.
Project management:
- Follow company processes to track projects from acceptance to completion, in the most efficient manner. This includes attending internal and external meetings, taking site notes to be filed on our internal workflow management tool, receiving project documents/drawings and compiling a summary that includes a project plan, key dates, list of responsibilities and assigned responsible persons.
- Complete and submit weekly Project Progress reports to Operations Manager to help achieve the best possible efficiencies within the company and the highest possible service to our customers.
- Liaise with office staff to compile installation handover packs for all relevant installations.
- Resolve customer invoice queries relating to your quoted projects in line with company procedures.
Standards To Be Met
Quotations:
- Ensure best possible pricing is obtained for all quotations.
- All quotes to be issued to customers in a timely manner, without grammatical errors, set out in an easy to understand fashion for customers.
- All quotes must be followed up with customers as per company procedures.
- Monthly sales targets to be agreed and reviewed with Directors.
Internal Meetings:
- An up to date analysis of all pending, ongoing and completed projects should be presented at the weekly Operations meeting.
- Attendance of company Quarterly Team Meetings, prepared and engaged to fully participate in the continued growth of the company.
Projects:
- Attend all project commencements to ensure installers have required information, correct parts and answer any questions raised, confirm works with the customer and discuss any variations.
- All customer queries should be responded to in line with company procedures.
- Any variation to the quotation (VO) to be confirmed in writing with the customer within 1 day.
Product Knowledge:
- Keep abreast of product development and new technologies.
- Continual review of manufacturers in the market to ensure the company is offering the best solution for our customers.

- Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per year, full-time dependant on experience and knowledge.
