Plant Mechanic – Heavy Plant & Crushing Equipment

Hayes, West London 

We are looking for an experienced and capable Plant Mechanic to join a well-established and successful West London-based business operating a large and varied fleet of heavy plant and processing equipment.

This is a permanent, long-term opportunity for a skilled mechanic who is confident working independently and takes pride in keeping machinery running safely and reliably.

The Role

You will be responsible for servicing, maintenance, fault finding and repairs across a wide range of equipment, including:

• Crushers and screeners
• Aggregate washing plant
• Excavators from approximately 1 tonne up to 50 tonnes
• Volvo A30 articulated dump trucks
• Dozers and loading shovels
• Smaller plant, machinery and tools
• Welding and fabrication repairs where required

The work is varied and hands-on, with responsibility for diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs efficiently to minimise downtime.

What We’re Looking For

We are particularly interested in experienced plant mechanics or engineers who:

• Have strong experience maintaining and repairing heavy construction or quarrying plant
• Are confident with mechanical and hydraulic fault finding
• Have good welding and fabrication ability
• Can work under their own initiative without constant supervision
• Are practical problem-solvers who can diagnose faults and get equipment back into service
• Take pride in the quality and reliability of their work

Experience with crushing, screening or aggregate processing equipment would be particularly valuable.

Hours

Monday to Friday: 7.00am – 5.00pm
Saturday: 7.00am – 2.00pm

Monday to Friday is paid as 10 hours per day, including lunch breaks.

Pay & Package

£20.00 per hour basic rate
£30.00 per hour overtime rate
