HGV Class 1 Night Driver – Double Trunk

Location: Middlewich, Cheshire
Route: Middlewich ↔ Lichfield
Pay: £17.50 – £19.61 per hour
Shifts: Monday – Friday Nights
Start Times: 18:00 one week / 19:00 the following week

We are currently recruiting an experienced HGV Class 1 Night Driver for an ongoing trunking position with a well-established logistics operation based in Middlewich.

This is a straightforward double trunk run between Middlewich and Lichfield, with no handball or multi-drop work. The role involves completing two runs during the shift, making it ideal for a professional HGV Class 1 Driver who prefers regular trunking rather than general haulage.

The Role

• Monday to Friday nights
• Double trunk: Middlewich ↔ Lichfield
• Typically two runs per shift
• No handball
• Double-deck trailer operation
• Regular, consistent route
• Some waiting/loading time at the hub may be involved
• Vehicle and trailer checks
• Full compliance with drivers' hours and tachograph regulations

The operation is associated with palletised freight and hub-to-hub distribution, with the Lichfield destination being a major pallet network hub. Publicly available listings for the operation describe this as a straightforward two-run night shift, generally around 10–12 hours.

£17.50 – £19.61 per hour

Monday – Friday

18:00 starts one week / 19:00 starts the following week

This is an ongoing position, with the potential to move from temporary to permanent for the right candidate.

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 1 / C+E licence
• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
• Previous Class 1 experience
• Trunking experience preferred
• Reliable and professional attitude
• Good knowledge of UK roads
• Ability to work independently on night shifts
