About the Role

We are recruiting three HGV Class 2 Drivers to join our operations team at East Midlands Airport on a fixed-term contract until October 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-paced aviation operation where you'll be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of in-flight catering, bar equipment and airline supplies to aircraft. Your role will be essential in ensuring flights depart on schedule while maintaining the highest standards of safety and customer service.

When not carrying out driving duties, you'll support warehouse operations by assisting with the preparation and assembly of airline amenity kits and other operational tasks.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely load, transport and deliver airline catering equipment and supplies using a 17-tonne rigid HGV.
  • Operate safely in both airside and landside environments, complying with all airport safety and security procedures.
  • Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and within strict airline turnaround times.
  • Liaise professionally with airline cabin crew during the loading and unloading process.
  • Carry out daily vehicle checks and complete all required transport documentation.
  • Support warehouse operations by preparing and assembling airline amenity kits when not driving.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and exceptional customer service.

 

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

  • A valid UK Class 2 (Category C) Driving Licence.
  • A valid Driver CPC Qualification Card.
  • No more than 6 penalty points on your driving licence.
  • Strong awareness of health and safety procedures.
  • Good communication and numeracy skills.
  • The ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • A flexible approach to working rotating shifts, including weekends.

 

Working Hours

This is a 40-hour per week position working a rotating shift pattern across Monday to Sunday, including weekends.

 

 

 

 

 

Typical shifts include:

  • 04:00 – 14:30
  • 10:00 – 20:30
  • 20:30 – 07:00

A combination of day, mid and night shifts will be required to support the 24/7 airport operation.

 

Pay

  • £17.61 per hour
  • Guaranteed 40-hour working week
