We are currently recruiting for a reliable and hardworking HGV Class 2 Driver/Loader to join a busy Refuse & Recycling team based in Sudbury, Suffolk. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Class 2 driver looking for consistent weekday work within an essential public service operation.

This is a hands-on role that combines driving responsibilities with loading duties, helping to ensure collection rounds are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with service requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out daily refuse and recycling collections across designated routes
• Operate HGV vehicles and collection machinery safely and efficiently
• Assist with loading duties to support the crew and complete routes on schedule
• Use in-cab technology and mobile devices as directed
• Complete all relevant paperwork and operational records accurately and in real time
• Carry out daily vehicle and machinery inspections before and after use, reporting any defects promptly
• Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of vehicles and equipment
• Follow safe lifting, manual handling, and health & safety procedures at all times
• Deliver excellent customer service when interacting with residents, customers, and other road users
• Work professionally and positively as part of a team

What We're Looking For

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) Driving Licence
• No more than 6 penalty points
• Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card
• Willingness to assist with refuse loading duties throughout the working day
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated and dependable
• Flexible attitude and willingness to undertake a variety of tasks
• Commitment to safe working practices
• Clean driving licence desirable
