HGV Class 2 Driver / Crew Leader – Council Services

Induction Date: 3rd August

Telephone interviews: Week commencing Monday 20th June (allocated timeslots will be provided).

We are currently recruiting an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver / Crew Leader to join a Council services team. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and safety-focused individual who can operate heavy goods vehicles while supporting and leading a small crew on daily routes.

Key Requirements:

• Valid Category C (HGV Class 2) driving licence and Driver Qualification Card (CPC) – essential.

• Experience carrying out vehicle safety checks and basic maintenance to ensure legal roadworthiness.

• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices in traffic environments.

• Ability to lead a small team, provide clear instructions, and support daily performance.

• Confident using in-cab technology and software to record service information and incidents.

• Excellent communication skills with colleagues, supervisors, and members of the public.

• Flexible approach with the ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and in all weather conditions.

• Physically fit with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer service.

• Ability to represent the Council positively at all times.

Boots and gloves will be provided by the client.
