The Role

We are currently recruiting for Waste Management Driver to support Environmental Services on a temporary basis. This is a hands-on role combining driving responsibilities with team leadership and manual work.

You will be responsible for leading a small crew in the collection and management of waste across the borough, ensuring services are delivered efficiently, safely, and in line with council standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Drive and operate waste collection vehicles safely and efficiently
2. Lead and supervise a small team on daily collection rounds
3. Undertake manual waste collection duties
4. Ensure all work is carried out in line with health & safety regulations
5. Complete relevant paperwork and daily vehicle checks
6. Provide excellent service to residents and members of the public

Requirements

1. Valid driving licence (appropriate for waste collection vehicles)
2. Previous experience in waste management, driving, or similar manual roles
3. Ability to lead and motivate a small team
4. Good understanding of health & safety practices
5. Physically fit and able to undertake manual labour in all weather conditions
6. Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented

1. This is a physically demanding, outdoor role
2. Work may involve early starts and working in varying weather conditions
