About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Class 2 HIAB Driver with clamshell operating experience to join a busy construction team. This is a hands-on role working on active construction sites, requiring a confident and safety-conscious operator who can work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating a HIAB lorry-mounted crane with clamshell bucket attachment for the loading, unloading and movement of materials on construction sites
- Transporting materials, aggregates, spoil and construction waste to and from site
- Carrying out pre-use inspections of the vehicle and HIAB equipment
- Liaising with site managers and ground workers to ensure efficient material handling
- Completing daily vehicle checks and defect reporting in line with legal requirements
- Working safely in accordance with site rules, health and safety regulations and company procedures
- Maintaining a clean and tidy vehicle at all times
Requirements
- Valid Class 2 (Category C) licence
- HIAB / lorry loader licence (ALLMI or equivalent)
- Clamshell operating experience — preferred
- Valid CPCS or CSCS card — desirable
- Construction site experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of health and safety practices
- Excellent communication and time management skills
