HGV Class 2 HIAB Driver / Electrician Assistant

Location: North Yorkshire
Client: NY Highways

We’re looking for an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver with a valid CPC to join a highways team supporting street lighting and signage works across North Yorkshire.

This is a hands-on outdoor role, with the majority of the work involving excavation and groundworks rather than driving.

Duties

• Groundworks, excavation, reinstatement, tarmac and paving
• Install lighting columns and roadside assets
• Operate Class 2 LGVs and HIAB equipment
• Support electricians with basic underground and above-ground tasks
• Set up traffic management and maintain safe working practices

Requirements

• Full HGV/LGV Class 2 licence + valid CPC
• Experience in groundworks, utilities or excavation
• Knowledge of safe digging and underground services
• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors
• Strong safety awareness

HIAB training may be available for the right candidate.

Please note: This is not solely a driving role. The majority of the position involves manual excavation and groundworks, so candidates must be comfortable with significant physical work.
