Hours: 37 hours per week
Monday to Thursday: 06:00 - 14:30
Friday: 06:00 - 11:00
Are you an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver looking for your next opportunity? Pertemps is recruiting on behalf of Plymouth City Council for enthusiastic and reliable drivers to join their busy Commercial Waste Team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a vital local authority service, helping to keep Plymouth clean while becoming part of a supportive and professional team.
The Role
As a member of the Commercial Waste Team, your responsibilities will include:
- Operating a range of vehicles, including 26-tonne, 12-tonne and 7.5-tonne waste collection vehicles
- Carrying out scheduled commercial and bulky waste collections across Plymouth
- Providing excellent customer service while maintaining high safety standards
- Supporting collection crews with loading duties when required
- Ensuring routes are completed efficiently and in line with service requirements
- A valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence
- A valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- Previous experience driving HGV vehicles
- Good knowledge of Plymouth and the surrounding areas
- A positive and flexible approach to work
- Strong communication skills and a team-focused attitude
- Excellent reliability and attendance
- All successful applicants must attend a mandatory induction and driving assessment
- Start dates will be confirmed upon successful completion of the assessment process
- Immediate starts are available for suitable candidates
