Salary: £41,441 per annum broken down as £17.71p/h based on a 45 hour week
Location: Padworth RG7 4JF
Hours: 45 Hours - 10:00am - 19:30pm, Monday to Friday (30 Minute unpaid Lunch)

  • Learn and develop your skills on everything chassis and body related from Pneumatics, to hydraulics, to electrical systems and drive lines on our mixed fleet of vehicles

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Your main duty is to Collect and Deliver vehicles to/from the Workshop and Collection of parts for the Workshop.
  • You will also be required to work around the Workshop assisting with parts, consumables, cleaning etc.
  • Safety is at the heart of everything we do so you will operate vehicles and work at all times in line with all training, procedures and legal requirements to protect the safety of yourself and the Workshop team. Proactively reporting any safety concerns, accidents or incidents promptly is vital to maintain a good working environment.
  • Drive and operate any vehicle required for maintenance, conducting Brake tests, assisting with road tests and taking vehicles for MOT/external repairs. You are to hold a valid driving licence for the category of vehicle you are driving and have a valid driver card (DCPC) - regular training is provided by the company, you also require a Tachograph card.
  • You will be provided with a Work phone which you are to use for Work only, reporting back to the Workshop Supervisor or Manager with regards to any issues that you may incur whilst out on task.
  • You are the face of Veolia to the public and so must ensure that you are correctly dressed in Veolia uniform/PPE and maintain a polite and professional relationship with members of the public, client staff and your colleagues.
  • You could be required to work overtime and occasional weekends as required to complete your work. On occasions you may be requested to carry out other duties not included in this job description.

What we're looking for:

  • Full UK Class C1 driving licence
  • Similar operational manual handling experience

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • The ability to communicate effectively within a team and to adhere to safety instructions
  • A reliable, punctual and focused individual.
  • Someone who can work independently and not be chased to complete tasks.
