Location: Nuneaton
Salary: £16.00 – £20.00 per hour
Hours: 7:30am – 5:00pm | Minimum 45 hours per week
Permanent | Full Time

An established business is looking for an experienced HGV Fitter to join its maintenance team, responsible for keeping a fleet of HGV/LGV vehicles and associated equipment safe, reliable and roadworthy.

This is a hands-on role covering servicing, maintenance, fault-finding and repairs, along with preparing vehicles for annual testing and carrying out roadworthiness checks.

The Role

• Service, maintain and repair HGV/LGV vehicles and associated equipment
• Carry out routine maintenance and annual test preparation
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently and safely
• Inspect vehicles and identify defects or required repairs
• Carry out road tests and safety checks where required
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and paperwork
• Ensure vehicles are maintained to the required legal and safety standards
• Work on a range of specialist equipment and ancillary machinery
• Support the wider maintenance operation when required
• Follow company Health & Safety and environmental procedures

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Strong hands-on experience working with HGVs/LGVs
• Good knowledge of vehicle maintenance, servicing and repair
• Experience diagnosing mechanical faults
• IRTEC certification – essential
• Knowledge of safe loading equipment/devices
• NVQ or relevant mechanical qualification preferred, but not essential
• HGV licence advantageous but not essential
• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
• Flexible approach to working hours when required

• £16.00 – £20.00 per hour, depending on experience
