Carnell is looking for a reliable and experienced HGV Operative to join our Technology & Infrastructure team, supporting highway and civil engineering projects across the UK. This role involves nationwide travel, working away from home, and occasional night and weekend working.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive and operate HGV vehicles in a safe and compliant manner.
- Transport plant, materials, equipment and site resources to and from project locations.
- Assist with on-site labouring and general operative duties when required.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and maintain accurate records.
- Load and unload materials safely.
- Follow site health, safety and environmental procedures.
- Support the delivery of highway and infrastructure projects across the UK.
Essential Requirements
- Current HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) Licence.
- Valid Driver CPC qualification.
- CSCS Labourer Card (minimum requirement).
- Experience operating HGV vehicles within construction, highways or civil engineering environments.
- Good understanding of vehicle safety and compliance requirements.
- Willingness to travel and work away from home when required.
- Highways or National Highways experience.
Desirable
- HIAB qualification.
- Cat & Genny.
- First Aid.
- Additional plant tickets.
