Barker Ross are currently recruiting on behalf of a client in Nottingham for an HGV Technician who knows their craft, thrives in a fast-moving workshop and wants to be part of a business where trust, ownership, resilience and teamwork aren't just words.

This is more than a maintenance role. You'll be part of the team that keeps commercial vehicles and trailers safe, compliant, road-ready and performing at their best. Based at their Nottingham site, you'll help deliver brilliant maintenance for both their own fleet and external customers, protecting drivers, goods, reputation and service at every turn.

Job type: Permanent

Salary: £40,622.40 - £44,647.20 per year

Benefits: Free parking / on-site parking

Work Location: Nottingham (on site)

  • Week 1 (Early shift) - Monday to Friday - 6:00am to 2:30pm with 30-minute paid break and 30-minute unpaid break, Saturday 6am to 11am with 15-minute paid break.
  • Week 2 (Late shift) - Monday to Friday - 12:00pm to 9:30pm with 30-minute paid break and 30-minute unpaid break.

What you'll be doing

  • Maintaining HGVs and trailers to high standards
  • Diagnosing faults accurately and carrying out repairs with confidence
  • Completing inspections, repairs and job cards accurately and on time
  • Reducing vehicle downtime through smart decisions and customer communication.
  • Supporting a smooth-running shift and helping the workshop deliver at pace
  • Coaching and supporting apprentices and fellow technicians when needed
  • Keeping safety, compliance and housekeeping standards high at all times
  • Representing the client professionally with customers and colleagues alike
