Are you an experienced HGV Technician / PSV Technician / Bus Mechanic / PSV Mechanic looking for a strong Monday-to-Friday role?
We're looking for a qualified technician to join a busy engineering operation in West Ham, working on a fleet of buses and keeping vehicles safe, reliable and ready for service.
The role of the HGV Technician / PSV Technician / Bus Mechanic / PSV Mechanic
You'll be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across the bus fleet, diagnosing faults and ensuring vehicles are maintained to a high standard.
Your day-to-day work will include:
- Carrying out servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance on buses.
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults.
- Working on engines, transmissions, braking, suspension and other vehicle systems.
- Carrying out component replacements and mechanical repairs.
- Using diagnostic equipment to identify and rectify faults.
- Ensuring vehicles are maintained in line with safety and operational standards.
- Completing maintenance records and relevant paperwork.
- Working closely with the wider engineering team to minimise vehicle downtime.
What you’ll need as HGV Technician / PSV Technician / Bus Mechanic / PSV Mechanic
- NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, Vehicle Technology or equivalent.
- Previous experience as an HGV Technician, PSV Technician, Bus Technician or Commercial Vehicle Technician.
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills.
- Experience working on buses, coaches, HGVs or other heavy commercial vehicles.
- Good understanding of vehicle maintenance and safety requirements.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- A professional and reliable approach to your work.
