Salary: £45,000 Basic + performance/efficiency bonus + overtime opportunities
Location: Leyland
Hours: Monday – Friday, 4pm to 11pm
Key Responsibilities of the HGV Technician:
- Carry out routine servicing, safety inspections, pre-MOT test preparation, and mechanical repairs on heavy goods vehicles and trailers to DVSA standards.
- Utilise advanced diagnostic equipment to identify and rectify complex mechanical and electrical faults efficiently.
- Ensure work is completed "right first time" to minimise vehicle downtime for our customers.
- Complete electronic job cards, service sheets, and VOSA documentation accurately and thoroughly via a tablet
- Prepare vehicles for annual MOT testing and present them if required.
- Maintain a clean, organised workspace and strictly adhere to all health and safety regulations.
- NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds Level 3, or IMI equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
- Proven track record working as an HGV Mechanic, Commercial Vehicle Fitter, or Trailer Technician.
- A full manual UK driving licence is required. An HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence is preferred but not essential.
- Strong fault-finding capabilities, proficiency with diagnostic tools, and pride in high-quality workmanship.
- Base salary of £45,000 per annum plus a rewarding bonus scheme and additional overtime premiums.
- Monday to Friday only—enjoy your weekends entirely to yourself.
- 22 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays.
