About the Role We are seeking an experienced and qualified HGV Technician to join our fleet maintenance team based in Merton. You will play a crucial role in keeping our specialist commercial vehicle fleet fully operational, safe, and compliant.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing, safety inspections, and preventive maintenance on heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) and municipal equipment.

• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic faults using modern diagnostic equipment.

• Carry out MOT preparations, presentations, and repair work to ensure standard compliance.

• Complete all relevant fleet administration and job sheets accurately in a timely manner.

• Respond to breakdown calls and carry out road side repairs when required.

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Repair and Maintenance (or equivalent qualification).

• Proven experience working on commercial vehicles or municipal fleets.

• A valid HGV / LGV Class 1 (Category C+E) or Class 2 (Category C) licence is highly desirable.

• Sound knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.

• Strong focus on health, safety, and operational excellence.
