We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced HGV Technician to join a reputable national dealership group in Preston, Lancashire. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional looking to advance their career within the motor trade sector. The HGV Technician role involves maintaining and repairing commercial vehicles, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency.

Duties of a HGV Technician:
  • Undertake maintenance, servicing, and repairs on various commercial vehicles and trailers
  • Conduct fault diagnosis and testing to accurately identify issues
  • Complete all required paperwork for warranty, retail, and contract work
  • Perform preventative maintenance to minimise customer downtime and costs
  • Follow manufacturer procedures and stay updated with technical advances
  • Contribute to a safe and efficient workshop environment
Requirements of a HGV Technician:
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (City & Guilds or similar)
  • Proven experience working on commercial vehicles and trailers
  • Strong diagnostic and repair skills
  • Organised, detail-oriented, with excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Full UK driving licence; HGV licence preferred but not essential
  • Professional attitude with good communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team effectively
