We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced HGV Technician to join a reputable service centre in Erith. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional looking to develop their career within the heavy goods vehicle maintenance industry. Our client offers a well-equipped workshop environment dedicated to quality service and safety standards.

  • Monday to Friday early shift from 08:00 to 16:30, including a half-hour lunch break

Duties of the HGV Technician:
  • Carrying out major and minor repairs on HGVs, trailers, and other commercial vehicles
  • Performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance, including oil changes and tyre rotations
  • Maintaining workshop inventory and ensuring a safe, clean working environment
  • Assisting diagnosis and planning of repairs in collaboration with colleagues
  • Keeping detailed records of all repairs and maintenance activities
  • Providing roadside emergency repair services as required as the HGV Technician
  • Completing job paperwork and warranty claims accurately, escalating issues where necessary
Requirements of the HGV Technician:
  • Level 3 NVQ, City and Guilds, or IMI qualification in HGV Vehicle Repair and Maintenance
  • Ability to identify worn or faulty components in accordance with DVSA standards
  • Full UK driving licence relevant to the vehicle classes worked on
  • Proven experience in heavy vehicle repair, diagnostics, and troubleshooting
  • Strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to work efficiently within a team and maintain high service standards
