We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced HGV Technician to join their established operations in Huncote, Leicestershire. This HGV Technician role offers a unique opportunity for a skilled professional to work across a diverse range of vehicles and equipment, including HGVs, trailers, and plant machinery.

Duties of a HGV Technician:
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults across HGVs, trailers, and plant equipment
  • Conduct 6-weekly inspections and servicing of vehicles and trailers
  • Perform preventative maintenance and MOT preparation as a HGV Technician
  • Service and repair telehandlers, loading shovels, diggers, and other plant machinery
  • Attend breakdowns, including roadside and customer site diagnostics as part of an on-call rota
  • Replace components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, AdBlue systems, ABS, and electrical systems
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, parts used, and time spent
  • Communicate effectively regarding repairs, parts requirements, and estimated completion times
  • Follow all health and safety procedures at all times
Requirements of a HGV Technician:
  • Minimum of 4 years' practical experience as an HGV and/or Plant Mechanic
  • Experience working with multiple vehicle brands
  • IRTEC certification would be advantageous 
  • Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and a reliable work ethic
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
  • Desirable: 6+ years' experience, welding and fabrication skills, knowledge of hydraulic or LOLE R regulations, experience with hooklift or RORO equipment
