We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a reputable and established commercial vehicle dealership in Newport, for the position of HGV Technician. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Heavy Goods Vehicle Technician to join a well-known business with a proud history of over 100 years. The successful HGV Technician will be responsible for delivering high-quality service and repairs within a busy workshop environment, contributing to the ongoing success and customer satisfaction of the dealership.

  • Starting salary of up to £19 per hour, depending on experience

Duties of a HGV Technician:
  • Complete all service and maintenance work to the highest standards within manufacturers' timeframes
  • Carry out comprehensive diagnosis and repairs of vehicle malfunctions
  • Document all diagnosis, repairs, safety inspections, and service activities accurately
  • Support colleagues with technical issues and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures
  • Contribute to maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and retention
  • Support continuous improvement and technical development within the workshop
Requirements of a HGV Technician:
  • Qualified to IMI/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
  • Alternatively, extensive, long-serving, industry experience in heavy vehicle repair
  • Able to produce high-quality work consistently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong team player with a committed work ethic
  • Individuals with an active Class 1/2 HGV driving licence will be considered advantageous but are not essential
