Location: Dudley, West Midlands
Pay Rate: £22.00 - £30.00 per hour (DOE)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:30pm
Our client, a well-established commercial vehicle maintenance provider in the Dudley area, is currently seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join their busy workshop team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician to work on a modern fleet of heavy goods vehicles within a professional, well-equipped workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs and commercial vehicles.
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults.
- Perform routine inspections, safety checks, and preventative maintenance.
- Complete MOT preparation and ensure vehicles meet DVSA standards.
- Use diagnostic equipment to assist with fault finding and repairs.
- Accurately complete job cards, service records, and workshop documentation.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of the workshop team.
- NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
- Proven experience working as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, or Commercial Vehicle Technician.
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
- Experience working on a range of heavy goods vehicles and trailers.
- Good understanding of DVSA regulations and vehicle compliance standards.
- Full UK driving licence preferred (Class 1 or Class 2 licence advantageous).
- Competitive hourly rate of £22.00 - £30.00 per hour, depending on experience.
- Monday to Friday working pattern – no regular weekends.
