We're looking for an experienced HGV Technician to join an established commercial vehicle operation in Grays, where you'll work as part of a skilled workshop team maintaining a varied fleet of heavy goods vehicles. Key Responsibilities
As an HGV Technician, you'll play an important role in keeping vehicles safe, reliable and roadworthy. Your duties will include:
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults
- Carrying out servicing, maintenance and safety inspections
- Using specialist diagnostic equipment to identify faults
- Identifying and reporting any additional repair requirements
- Completing job cards accurately and efficiently
- Working closely with the Shift Supervisor to manage daily workloads
- Supporting call-out and breakdown requirements when required
What we're looking for
You'll ideally bring:
- C&G or NVQ Level 3 qualification in HGV Maintenance or equivalent
- Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge
- Previous experience working on HGVs or commercial vehicles
- Experience using vehicle diagnostic equipment
- A good understanding of workshop health and safety
- A full UK driving licence; HGV licence would be advantageous
The role operates Monday to Friday, with some flexibility required to support the wider workshop. Occasional Saturday work may also form part of the rota.
