This is a great opportunity to take on a hands-on HGV Technician Supervisor / HGV Workshop Supervisor / HGV Workshop Foreman role, combining your technical experience with responsibility for supporting and overseeing the workshop team.
The Role of the HGV Technician Supervisor / HGV Workshop Supervisor / HGV Workshop Foreman
Working as part of a busy commercial vehicle operation, you will remain hands-on with HGV maintenance and repairs while helping to supervise the day-to-day running of the workshop.
You will:
- Carry out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on HGVs.
- Support and oversee a team of HGV Technicians.
- Allocate work and help ensure jobs are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
- Diagnose and assist with complex mechanical and electrical faults.
- Ensure vehicles are maintained safely and in line with required standards.
- Monitor workshop productivity and vehicle downtime.
- Provide technical support and guidance to the wider team.
- Liaise with management regarding repairs, parts, vehicle requirements and workshop issues.
- Complete relevant paperwork and maintenance records.
- Maintain high standards of Health & Safety and housekeeping.
- Previous experience working as an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Commercial Vehicle Technician.
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic experience.
- Previous supervisory or team-lead experience would be advantageous.
- Good knowledge of HGV servicing, maintenance and repairs.
- Able to confidently diagnose mechanical and electrical faults.
- NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds or equivalent is preferred.
- A reliable, organised and hands-on approach.
- Full UK driving licence.
