Salary: £23.00 per hour DOE | £58,000 basic salary | OTE £63,800

Hours: Monday to Friday | 08:00–16:30

Additional Hours: 1 in 2 Saturdays | 05:00–13:00

We are recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician to join a successful commercial vehicle dealership in Erith. This is an excellent opportunity for an HGV Mechanic, Truck Technician or Commercial Vehicle Technician to earn £58,000 per year with an OTE of £63,800, while working within a professional workshop environment with excellent training and development opportunities.

The role is ideally suited to an experienced HGV Technician who enjoys working on modern commercial vehicles, carrying out diagnostics, repairs, servicing and maintenance to manufacturer and DVSA standards.

Located close to Dartford, Bexley, Gravesend and South East London, this is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic looking for a long-term career with a respected commercial vehicle business.

As an HGV Technician / Truck Technician / Commercial Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for:

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs, trucks, trailers and commercial vehicles
• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults using modern diagnostic equipment
• Completing PMIs, inspections and MOT preparation
• Carrying out repairs to manufacturer and DVSA standards
• Identifying faults and providing effective repair solutions
• Supporting breakdown repairs when required
• Completing job cards, service records and repair documentation accurately
• Maintaining high standards of safety, quality and productivity within the workshop
• Working as part of a skilled commercial vehicle technician team

To be considered for this HGV Technician role, you will need:

Essential:

• Proven experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, Truck Technician or Commercial Vehicle Technician
• Level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds, IMI or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance
• Experience repairing and maintaining HGVs, trucks or commercial vehicles
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability
• Ability to work to manufacturer and DVSA standards
• Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

• HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence
• IRTEC accreditation
• Main dealership experience
• Experience with electrical diagnostics and fault finding
