HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Truck Technician

Location: West Thurrock, Essex

Pay: £25.00 per hour (£55,250 per year) + Overtime at 1.5x (OTE £62,000+)

Hours: 42.5 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Alternating early and late shifts

Week 1: Monday-Friday 06:00-15:00

Week 2: Monday-Friday 14:00-23:00

Additional: Alternate Saturdays 07:00-14:00 paid at 1.5x (when required)

Tru Talent is recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Truck Technician to join a busy main dealer workshop in West Thurrock.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled HGV Technician to earn £55,250 per year with an OTE of £62,000+, working on the latest commercial vehicles using advanced diagnostic equipment. The Role

As an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Truck Technician, you will:

  • Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs, trailers and commercial vehicles
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic faults using VCADS and manufacturer diagnostic equipment
  • Complete MOT preparation, PMIs and inspections to DVSA standards
  • Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing
  • Complete job cards and workshop documentation accurately
  • Maintain high workshop productivity while delivering first-class workmanship
  • Follow all health and safety procedures within the workshop

The Requirements

To be considered for this HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Truck Technician role, you will need:

  • NVQ Level 2 or Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance
  • Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
  • Ability to complete all aspects of HGV servicing, repairs and maintenance
  • Own tools
  • Full UK driving licence
  • HGV or PSV licence desirable but not essential
  • IRTEC accreditation desirable but not essential
