Shifts: Rotating early and late shifts

HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Commercial Vehicle Technician

Are you an experienced HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, or Commercial Vehicle Technician looking for a new opportunity in Basingstoke?

We are recruiting for a skilled HGV Technician to join a professional commercial vehicle workshop. You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing and repairing HGVs and commercial vehicles, helping to keep customers' vehicles safe, reliable and on the road.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HGV Mechanic, Truck Technician or Commercial Vehicle Technician looking for a stable permanent role offering up to £48,000 per year, overtime, excellent benefits and career development.

The Role

As an HGV Technician, you will:

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and commercial vehicles
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults
• Complete inspections and preventative maintenance
• Carry out MOT preparation and rectification work
• Accurately complete job cards and workshop paperwork
• Work closely with colleagues to meet workshop targets
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop
• Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard

Hours & Shifts

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

• Week 1: 07:00-15:30
• Week 2: 15:30-00:00
• 1 in 3 Saturdays: 06:00-12:00

Skills & Experience

Essential:

• Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician
• NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
• Good knowledge of HGV systems and commercial vehicles
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Professional, reliable and flexible approach
• Strong commitment to health and safety

Desirable:

• HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence
• Commercial vehicle dealership experience
