We’re looking for an experienced HGV Workshop Supervisor to take ownership of a busy workshop within an established general haulage operation in Grantham.

This is a hands-on role – you'll still be working on the vehicles, but you'll also take responsibility for planning maintenance, inspections and servicing, managing workshop priorities, ordering parts and keeping the maintenance records up to date.


Skills & Experience

  •   Fully qualified HGV Technician/Mechanic or time-served

  •   Previous workshop supervisory or senior technician experience

  •   Strong HGV maintenance, servicing and inspection knowledge

  •   Good IT skills and confident using a TMS

  •   Good man-management and communication skills

  •   Good references required


Job Details

  •   HGV Workshop Supervisor – Grantham

  •   £25.00–£28.00 per hour

  •   Monday–Friday

  •   Occasional Saturday overtime available

  •   Mainly DAF fleet, plus Scania & Mercedes

  •   Very little call-out work

  •   Reports to Compliance Manager & General Manager


Responsibilities

  •   Plan and manage vehicle maintenance, inspections and servicing

  •   Carry out hands-on HGV repairs and maintenance

  •   Update inspection sheets, reports and TMS records

  •   Order parts and maintain workshop stock

  •   Manage and support the workshop team

  •   Keep vehicles maintained and minimise downtime
