Location: Stockton-on-Tees
Salary: £40,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent, Full-time
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (40 hours per week)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced High Voltage Technician to join our client based in Stockton-on-Tees.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out high-voltage and low-voltage electrical work, including installation, commissioning, testing and routine maintenance of electrical equipment and power systems.

You will play an important role in ensuring electrical systems operate safely, reliably and efficiently, while working closely with project teams and clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out HV and LV electrical installation, commissioning, testing and maintenance.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults and carry out corrective repairs.
  • Complete planned and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Work safely on electrical equipment and power distribution systems.
  • Record and document test results and maintain accurate service records.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
  • Work closely with project teams to support successful delivery of work.
  • Communicate professionally with clients regarding technical findings and service outcomes.
  • Follow all site safety procedures, permits to work and company/regulatory requirements.
  • Use appropriate electrical tools and test equipment.
  • Support continuous improvement in system reliability and performance.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working with high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of power generation and electrical power systems.
  • Strong electrical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with electrical maintenance and repairs.
  • Preventative maintenance experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Understanding of electrical safety standards and permit-to-work systems.
  • A relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Previous experience within industrial, utility or power generation environments would be advantageous.
