The Role

As an HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school by:

  • Delivering engaging learning activities across the curriculum
  • Supporting teachers to meet the needs of all pupils
  • Leading small-group intervention sessions in core subjects
  • Providing 1:1 support for pupils with additional learning needs
  • Covering lessons when required, ensuring continuity of learning
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and classroom engagement
  • Helping pupils develop confidence, resilience, and a love of learning


What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold an HLTA qualification or equivalent or be willing to work towards
  • Have experience working in a primary school environment
  • Be passionate about supporting children's learning and development
  • Be proactive, adaptable, and able to work independently
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare


Contract Details

  • Location: DT9
  • Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Duration: Until the end of the academic year
  • Hours: 8:20am - 3:15pm
  • Pay: From £125 per day
  • Contract Type: Long-term supply / Temporary

  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one)
  • Provide two professional references covering the past two years
  • Have recent safeguarding training (Prospero can provide this if required)
