Long Term Futures is recruiting a confident and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming primary school in Westminster from September.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an accomplished Teaching Assistant ready for greater responsibility. You'll work across the school, combining classroom support, targeted interventions and whole-class cover, making this a varied role with plenty of opportunity to make an impact.
The school is looking for someone with strong primary curriculum knowledge who can step confidently into a classroom, establish expectations quickly and keep pupils engaged in learning.

The Role
As HLTA, you will:

  • Lead classes during PPA cover and teacher release time, following provided planning
  • Deliver focused English and Maths interventions for individuals and small groups
  • Support teaching and learning across the primary age range
  • Adapt activities to ensure pupils with different abilities can access learning
  • Maintain clear routines and positive behaviour expectations when leading classes
  • Provide teachers with useful feedback on pupil engagement and progress
  • Support pupils with additional learning needs where required
  • Work closely with teachers and senior leaders across the school

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience as an HLTA or highly experienced Teaching Assistant
  • HLTA Level 4 qualification is desirable but not essential for candidates with strong relevant experience
  • Whole-class teaching or PPA cover experience is highly desirable
  • Secure knowledge of the primary curriculum, particularly English and Maths
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Confident, organised and able to take initiative
  • Previous UK primary school experience
