Higher Level Teaching Assistant

A thriving and supportive Primary School in Haringey is recruiting a talented Higher Level Teaching Assistant for September 2026.

The school is looking for a confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant who is passionate about helping pupils succeed and eager to play a key role within the KS2 team. This exciting position combines intervention work, small group teaching, and occasional whole-class leadership responsibilities.

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will lead Maths interventions designed to accelerate progress and, at times, oversee a Year 5 class for parts of the day when the class teacher is unavailable. Planning and resources will already be in place, allowing you to focus on delivering lessons and maintaining excellent learning environments.

For aspiring teachers and ECTs, this role provides a unique opportunity to build classroom confidence while receiving support from experienced teachers and senior leaders. The school has a strong track record of developing support staff into successful teaching professionals and may be able to offer future teaching opportunities for the right candidate.

• Delivering high-quality Maths interventions as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant

This Higher Level Teaching Assistant role would suit an experienced TA, HLTA, Cover Supervisor, aspiring teacher, or ECT looking to broaden their experience before moving into a full-time teaching position.
