A two-form entry primary school in Kensington is seeking to appoint an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) on a temporary-to-permanent basis from September 2026.

The initial contract will run for the full academic year, with the potential to become permanent.

The school is rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted and is highly regarded within the local community for its welcoming ethos, clear values and strong vision. The successful candidate will be expected to uphold and reflect these principles in their practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver long-term cover for:
    • PPA (Planning, Preparation and Assessment) time
    • Staff absences
  • Work across both Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2)

Experience across both key stages is therefore highly desirable.

Requirements:

  • Qualified HLTA (or equivalent), or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) seeking broader experience
  • Previous experience supporting pupils across KS1 and KS2
  • Experience working with SEN (Special Educational Needs) pupils is advantageous
  • Ability to align with the school’s inclusive and supportive ethos

The school has a higher-than-average proportion of disadvantaged pupils, making prior experience in similar settings particularly beneficial.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
