My client is a growing infrastructure business delivering major projects across the UK. With a strong focus on safety, collaboration, employee wellbeing and long-term development, they are looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of a key highways scheme based in Howden, near Goole.
What you will be doing
As Senior Project Manager, you will lead the project team from site and take responsibility for the safe and effective delivery of the scheme within programme, budget and environmental requirements.
You will be doing the following:
·Leading multidisciplinary project teams from mobilisation through to successful completion.
·Driving performance across health, safety and wellbeing, quality, programme, commercial delivery and client satisfaction.
·Managing subcontractors and coordinating interfaces across design, utilities, enabling works and main construction activities.
·Developing and maintaining effective project plans, programmes, reporting processes and risk management controls.
·Monitoring weekly progress and working with department heads, contractors and suppliers to resolve issues and mitigate potential delays.
·Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, designers, contractors, consultants and key stakeholders.
·Managing the customer relationship throughout delivery, including change management, decision-making and expectation management.
·Supporting commercial teams with project costs, contractual obligations, change control and commercial performance.
·Ensuring the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing are maintained throughout the project.
·Creating a positive project culture focused on collaboration, accountability, innovation and safe working.
·Identifying capability or behavioural gaps within the project team and ensuring the right support and development is provided.
·Directing, motivating and maintaining a competent, engaged and well-supported project team.
·Maintaining accurate project records relating to performance, budget, programme and activity.
What you will need
To be considered for this Senior Project Manager opportunity, you will ideally have:
·A degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
·Significant experience delivering highways construction projects in senior project leadership positions.
·Previous experience operating as a Senior Project Manager or in a comparable project leadership role.
·Strong working knowledge of NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts.
·Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams across complex construction phases.
·Strong knowledge of health, safety and wellbeing requirements within major infrastructure delivery.
·Excellent organisational skills with the ability to coordinate large teams of contractors, consultants and professional service providers.
·Experience engaging with and influencing senior public-sector or external stakeholders.
·Strong collaboration, communication and relationship-management skills.
·The ability to manage an extensive supply chain while maintaining effective working relationships.
Chartered status with a relevant professional or industry body would be advantageous, but is not essential.
