Your responsibilities
As the Highways Contracts Manager, you will oversee multiple projects from the pre-construction stage through to completion. You will be responsible for ensuring that each scheme meets its safety, quality, environmental, programme and commercial objectives.
You will be:
· Managing multiple highways, structures and civil engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.
· Leading pre-contract planning and working closely with estimating teams to establish accurate costs, programmes and resource requirements.
· Preparing, reviewing and managing contract plans, construction phase plans, method statements and risk assessments.
· Monitoring project performance and taking appropriate action to address programme, quality or commercial issues.
· Contributing to regional management, commercial and planning meetings.
· Implementing SHEQ policies and promoting consistently high standards across project teams and supply chain partners.
· Developing productive relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
· Maintaining accurate contractual information within CRM, SLIDS and other project management systems.
· Overseeing project reporting, document control, record keeping and archiving.
· Supporting, developing and leading project teams to achieve successful outcomes.
Your experience
To be considered for this Highways Contracts Manager position, you will need:
· Previous experience managing multiple construction sites or infrastructure projects in a contracts management position.
· Strong experience delivering highways bridge maintenance, concrete repair or structural refurbishment schemes.
· A solid understanding of highways structures and civil engineering project delivery.
· Strong planning, programming, commercial and financial management skills.
· The ability to manage competing priorities across several live projects.
· Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
· Experience working effectively with clients, subcontractors and supply chain partners.
· Competence using Microsoft Office and modern project management systems.
· A collaborative leadership style and the ability to support the development of others.
· The ability to travel to Mitcham and other project locations as required.
Salary and package
The successful Highways Contracts Manager will receive:
· A salary of up to £85,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
