With a strong pipeline of National Highways work and a reputation for delivering high-quality schemes safely and efficiently, they are now looking to strengthen their team by appointing a Section Engineer - Highways to support projects in the Penrith area.
The role and responsibilities
In this Section Engineer - Highways position, you will take responsibility for the engineering delivery of a section of works, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
You will be responsible for:
·Managing engineering activities for allocated sections of work
·Carrying out and overseeing setting out for highways construction works
·Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and programme requirements
·Coordinating subcontractors and site teams to achieve project objectives
·Reviewing technical drawings, specifications and engineering documentation
·Maintaining accurate site records, quality documentation and as-built information
·Supporting the Site Agent and Project Manager with planning and progress reporting
·Monitoring progress and resolving technical issues on site
·Promoting and maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and quality
Must have skills and experience
To be successful in this Section Engineer - Highways role, you will ideally have:
·Previous experience working as a Section Engineer or Senior Site Engineer within highways or civil engineering
·Experience delivering National Highways or major highways infrastructure projects
·Strong knowledge of highways construction methods and specifications
·Experience using surveying and setting out equipment
·Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical information
·Experience coordinating subcontractors and managing sections of work
·Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills
·A relevant qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
·CSCS card (or equivalent)
