Site Agent - Highways & Civil Engineering - Bath

Are you a Site Agent with experience delivering highways, civil engineering or infrastructure improvement schemes?
This is an opportunity to take ownership of varied highways and active travel projects across the South West, with a strong benefits package, long-term development opportunities and responsibility for delivering schemes from site mobilisation through to completion.
My client is a well-established civil engineering organisation delivering transport and infrastructure projects across the UK. Due to continued workload across the South West, they are looking to appoint a Site Agent to support the successful delivery of highways and cycleway improvement schemes around Bath and the wider region.
What you will be doing
As a Site Agent, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and successful delivery of construction projects, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and in line with programme, quality and commercial requirements.
You will be doing the following:
·Managing highways and civil engineering projects including junction improvements, traffic signal schemes, cycleways and active travel upgrades.
·Taking responsibility for site health, safety, quality and environmental performance.
·Managing project programmes and ensuring key milestones are achieved.
·Monitoring project costs, forecasting and supporting accurate cost and value reporting.
·Managing change in accordance with contractual requirements.
·Working closely with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and internal delivery teams.
·Leading and supporting site teams, including the development of direct reports.
·Managing project risks and identifying practical solutions to delivery challenges.
·Ensuring works comply with relevant specifications, testing requirements and construction standards.
·Promoting collaborative working across the project team while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
What you will need
To be considered for this Site Agent position, you will ideally have:
·Previous experience managing highways construction, highways improvement or civil engineering schemes.
·Good knowledge of NEC forms of contract.
·Understanding of CDM Regulations, programme management, risk management and cost control.
·Experience of forecasting, actual cost management and value reporting.
·Knowledge of specifications and testing regimes relevant to general civil engineering.
·Experience leading and developing construction teams.
·Good IT skills, including Microsoft Project and Excel.
·A Degree, HNC or equivalent qualification or experience within Civil Engineering or a related construction discipline.
·NVQ Level 6 or above in a construction-related discipline, or equivalent experience.
·SMSTS.
·A full UK driving licence.
Temporary Works Co-ordinator experience and an Appointed Person CPCS card would be beneficial but are not essential.
