We are currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive Good Ofsted-rated secondary school in Perry Barr, Birmingham, seeking an enthusiastic History Teacher to join their successful Humanities department from September 2026.

The Role
As a History Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and thought-provoking lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, inspiring students to develop a passion for History and a deeper understanding of the world around them.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering high-quality History lessons
- Teaching engaging and challenging content across KS3 and KS4
- Assessing, monitoring and tracking student progress
- Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Maintaining high expectations for behaviour and achievement
- Supporting students to develop critical thinking and analytical skills
- Contributing to the wider success of the Humanities department
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Have experience teaching History within a secondary school setting
- Possess strong subject knowledge and a passion for History
- Demonstrate excellent classroom management skills
- Have high expectations of student achievement and behaviour
- Be committed to delivering engaging and effective lessons
- Be a positive, proactive and collaborative team member
Ideally, the school is looking for an experienced Teacher; however, applications from ECTs are warmly welcomed and fully encouraged.
