Luma Education Recruitment is currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and caring Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join an impressive specialist SEN / SEMH school setting.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a welcoming and supportive team working with small classes of just 3–6 pupils, allowing staff to build strong relationships and provide personalised support. The school offers a rewarding environment, excellent training and ongoing professional development, with a strong focus on supporting every pupil to achieve their potential.
The successful HLTA will be passionate about education and have a genuine interest in supporting children and young people with SEN, SEMH, ASD and ADHD.
The Role:
• Lead engaging 1:1 and small-group learning activities and interventions
• Support pupils across the curriculum, adapting learning to individual needs
• Work closely with teachers and the wider support team to promote positive learning and development
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and provide consistent support
• Encourage pupils' academic, social and emotional development
• Contribute to a calm, nurturing and inclusive learning environment
• Take an active role in supporting pupils with additional learning and SEND needs
About You:
• HLTA qualification or relevant Level 4 Teaching Assistant / education qualification
• Experience working with children or young people in a school, SEN, SEMH, AP or youth setting
• Understanding of SEND, SEN, SEMH, ASD and/or ADHD
• Patient, caring and approachable, with a genuine passion for supporting young people
• Confident supporting learning on a 1:1 and small-group basis
• Positive, proactive and able to work effectively as part of a supportive team
• A relevant SEND qualification or specialist training would be advantageous
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
