HLTA - Inclusion Base / Specialist Provision in Manchester

Aspire People are recruiting a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join an inclusive primary school in North Manchester, supporting pupils within a specialist Inclusion Base.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HLTA who is confident taking responsibility for a provision and working closely with a lead teacher to create engaging learning opportunities for pupils with additional needs.
The Role:
* Taking day-to-day responsibility for the Inclusion Base
* Leading and supporting the team working within the provision
* Planning and delivering engaging sessions for a small group of pupils
* Supporting pupils with SEND and communication needs
* Helping pupils develop confidence, engagement and independence
* Supporting phonics, reading and wider curriculum activities
* Adapting learning and activities to meet individual pupil needs
* Monitoring and celebrating pupil progress
* Supporting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
* Working closely with the lead teacher, SENCO and wider school team
* Helping develop the learning environment and resources
The Ideal Candidate:
* Holds an HLTA qualification or equivalent higher-level education qualification
* Experienced working within a primary school setting
* Experience supporting pupils with SEND is highly desirable
* Experience with autism, communication needs or specialist provision would be beneficial
* Confident leading other staff and taking responsibility for a provision
* Strong understanding of child development and learning
* Calm, nurturing and consistent approach
* Able to use initiative and work independently
ECTs or suitably qualified education professionals with an equivalent level of qualification and the right experience may also be considered.
The Opportunity:
* 37.5 hours per week
* Term-time only
* Long-term position through Aspire People
* Potential for a permanent contract after 12 weeks for the right candidate, subject to both the school and candidate being happy with the placement
