Full-Time HLTA - Permanent Role

Start Date: September 2026

Tradewind Recruitment are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming and successful multi-form entry Junior School in Chesterfield from September 2026.

This is a full-time, permanent position, initially payrolled through Tradewind Recruitment, offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced HLTA or a qualified teacher looking to move away from the demands of a full-time classroom teaching role while still making a significant impact on pupils' learning.

As a HLTA, you will play a key role within the school, taking responsibility for delivering PPA cover across Years 3 to 6 and providing high-quality teaching and learning experiences for pupils. You will also be required to step in and provide short-term teacher absence cover, so confidence leading a class independently is essential.

The successful candidate will:

• Hold a recognised HLTA qualification (essential)
• Be a confident and professional classroom practitioner
• Have strong knowledge of the Key Stage 2 curriculum
• Have excellent behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils
• Be confident delivering lessons across a range of subjects
• Be adaptable and able to work effectively as part of a wider school team
• Be committed to providing a high standard of education and support for pupils

This role would also suit a qualified teacher looking to take a step away from full-time teaching, offering the opportunity to use your classroom experience in a more flexible capacity while continuing to inspire and support children.
