Homelessness Consultant in Leicester, Leicestershire

£300 – £400 a day

Leicester · Contract

An established charity operating across Leicestershire is seeking to strengthen its work to prevent and tackle homelessness. Supporting thousands of people through its wider services, the organisation is committed to improving outcomes for individuals facing housing insecurity and complex challenges.

This is a specialist, partnership-focused role rather than a frontline support position. You will develop relationships with landlords, letting agents and housing providers, identify accommodation opportunities and establish referral pathways to help people facing significant barriers to housing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build relationships with private landlords, letting agents, housing associations and Registered Providers.
  • Identify and progress accommodation opportunities across Leicestershire.
  • Develop referral pathways, partnership agreements and service-level agreements.
  • Explore alternative accommodation models to improve access to housing.
  • Work with local authorities and support services to address barriers associated with rough sleeping and complex needs.
  • Attend housing forums and partnership meetings to develop new opportunities.
  • Deliver practical outcomes quickly to support project mobilisation.
About You
  • Experience in housing procurement, landlord liaison, homelessness services or accommodation partnerships.
  • Strong relationships with landlords, letting agents or housing providers.
  • Knowledge of local authority housing services and the private rented sector.
  • Understanding of rough sleeping, complex needs and tenancy sustainment.
  • Excellent relationship-building, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver results at pace.
Knowledge of the Leicestershire housing market and an established local provider network would be particularly advantageous.

What's on Offer?
  • Competitive day rate: Up to  £400 per day
  • Hybrid arrangement: Ideally around 2 days per week in the office, with flexibility by agreement.
  • Interim opportunity: An initial 3–6 month assignment, starting as soon as possible.
  • Meaningful impact: The opportunity to shape a funded homelessness project and develop sustainable accommodation pathways for people with complex needs.
  • Autonomy: The opportunity to use your existing networks and expertise to make an immediate, tangible difference.
