Horticulture Technical Sales Representative

South East England (Home-Based with Travel)

£ DOE + Company Car + Training

Love plants but looking for something beyond the nursery?

Or already in horticultural sales and looking for your next challenge?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading ornamental horticulture business supplying innovative genetics and young plants to commercial growers across the UK.

As part of their continued investment in the UK market, they're creating a brand-new Technical Sales Representative role covering the South. You'll play a key part in developing the territory, growing customer relationships, and helping drive the next phase of growth.

If you're passionate about plants, enjoy working with growers, and want a role that combines technical knowledge with relationship building, this could be exactly what you're looking for.

What's on offer?

  • Competitive salary £DOE
  • Company car
  • Laptop, phone and home office support
  • Pension
  • Structured training and development
  • European product and technical training trips
  • Significant autonomy and flexibility
  • Supportive team and long-term career opportunities

What's the job?

You'll be responsible for promoting a range of young plants and genetics to commercial growers across the Midlands and South of England.

This is a true relationship-based sales role. Whilst there will be existing customers to support, a big part of the opportunity is helping the business continue to grow its market presence by getting in front of growers and building new relationships.

Day to day, you'll be:

  • Managing and developing relationships with commercial growers
  • Introducing new varieties
  • Providing technical and after-sales support
  • Visiting customers and understanding their growing requirements
  • Identifying new business opportunities across the region
  • Monitoring market trends and competitor activity
  • Working closely with customer service and European colleagues
  • Attending trade shows and industry events

You'll spend most of your week out with customers, building relationships and helping growers get the most from the products and genetics available to them.

What do I need?

  • Strong plant knowledge
  • Experience within commercial growing, nurseries, garden centres, amenity horticulture, or horticultural sales.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A self-motivated and proactive attitude
  • Confidence working independently and managing your own diary.
  • Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Sales experience would be beneficial, but it isn't essential.

This could suit someone currently working in a nursery or growing environment who wants to move into a commercial role.

Equally, if you're already selling into horticulture and want to represent a strong product portfolio, we'd love to hear from you.
