Location: Near Windermere, Cumbria (Lake District)

Salary: £13.27 per hour, minimum 45 hours per week, plus paid overtime (approx. £31,050 a year basic) plus tips of £3,000 to £4,200 a year

Contract: Permanent, Full Time

Live-In / Accommodation: Available at £78 per week, all inclusive

Overview

We are recruiting a Chef de Partie for a characterful country inn hotel set in peaceful woodland, just outside Windermere in the heart of the Lake District. The hotel is part of a long-established Lake District hotel group.

Food is at the centre of the business. The oak-beamed restaurant has open fires and a seasonal grill and smokehouse menu.

The Role

You will run your own section and support the Head Chef and Sous Chef through busy services. This is a full-time role with a minimum of 45 hours a week, and any overtime is paid. You will work a rota that includes evenings and weekends.

Key Responsibilities

Run your section during service to a consistent, high standard.

Prepare, cook and present dishes from the grill and smokehouse menu.

Complete your mise en place before every service.

Support the senior chefs and step up when needed.

Help train and guide commis chefs and kitchen porters.

Check deliveries, rotate stock and keep waste to a minimum.

Follow food safety, allergen and hygiene procedures and keep records up to date.

Keep your section clean, organised and ready for service.

Key Requirements

Previous experience as a Chef de Partie, or a strong Commis Chef ready to step up.

Experience in a busy hotel, pub or restaurant kitchen.

Confident working a grill and cooking meat to order.

Food Hygiene Level 2 or above.

A good understanding of allergens and food safety.

Calm under pressure and a strong team player.

Flexible to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
