Service Care Solutions are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a prestigious private family residence for an experienced and professional Housekeeper/Household Butler to join an established household team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly organised, discreet, and proactive individual who takes pride in delivering exceptional standards of housekeeping and household support open to relocating. Working closely with the Head Housekeeper and wider household team, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of a high-end private residence.
The successful candidate will have previous experience within a private household, luxury hospitality environment, yacht, or similar high-end service setting and will be comfortable supporting a variety of household functions with professionalism and flexibility.
The Role
This is a varied, hands-on position that combines traditional housekeeping responsibilities with wider household assistance, guest support, food preparation assistance, and chauffeur duties.
You will be expected to maintain the highest standards throughout the residence while anticipating the needs of the family and contributing positively to the overall running of the household.
Key Responsibilities
Housekeeping Duties
- Maintaining the residence to exceptional standards of cleanliness and presentation.
- Full housekeeping duties including cleaning, tidying, organising, and room preparation.
- Professional laundering, garment care, and wardrobe organisation.
- Ironing to a very high standard, including luxury and delicate fabrics.
- Bed making, linen changes, and towel management.
- Managing laundry cycles, dry cleaning arrangements, and specialist clothing care.
- Ensuring household supplies are well stocked and organised.
- Assisting with seasonal deep cleaning and household organisation projects.
- Greeting family members and guests in a warm and professional manner.
- Assisting with table setting and light food and beverage service.
- Preparing guest rooms and household areas for arrivals and departures.
- Running errands and assisting with household administration as required.
- Anticipating household needs and taking initiative without constant supervision.
- Supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the residence.
- Maintaining absolute discretion and confidentiality at all times.
- Assisting with meal preparation when required.
- Supporting the preparation and serving of family meals.
- Maintaining exceptional cleanliness and organisation throughout kitchen areas.
- Assisting with washing up, clearing, and kitchen housekeeping duties.
- Monitoring food supplies and household essentials.
- Undertaking food shopping and household purchasing when required.
- Supporting the household team during entertaining and family events.
- Conducting airport transfers and local driving duties for family members and guests.
- Ensuring household vehicles are clean, presentable, fuelled, and maintained.
- Assisting with luggage and arrivals/departures.
- Planning routes effectively and ensuring punctuality.
About You
We are keen to speak with candidates who possess:
- Previous experience within a private household, luxury hotel, yacht, or similar high-end service environment.
- Excellent housekeeping, laundry, and garment care skills.
- Professional ironing experience with exceptional attention to detail.
- A proactive, flexible, and positive attitude.

- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- The ability to multitask and prioritise effectively.
- A calm, discreet, and trustworthy approach.

Desirable Experience
- Butler or silver-service experience.
- Experience working for UHNW families or private estates.
- Knowledge of luxury fabric care and wardrobe management.
- Experience coordinating with household staff and external contractors.

Flexibility
Flexibility is a key requirement of this role. Whilst a regular working schedule will be in place, the successful candidate will be expected to provide additional support during busy periods, including weekends, Bank Holidays, Easter, Christmas, New Year, and other family holiday periods when required.
